We only had a few going to BSPS Summer Championships this year but the children all did us proud and notched up some really good results. The girls in the 138 Show Pony class started us off in the Simply The Best 138 class where Ruby and Wycroft-Forget-me-not won and team mate Florrie and Whiteleaze Debutante finished in 4th place.
Millie and Greendown Mandolin gave a beautiful show in their Simply The Best class to finish in 2nd and then Millie and Woodend Marigold finished 4th in another mammoth M&M Lead Rein class.
Our day was then topped off when we were invited to a drinks reception hosted by the BSPS President overlooking the main arena’s evening performance- a lovely opportunity to catch up with everyone.
Day 2 and it was the turn of the Blue Riband competition. The 138 Show Pony girls did us proud again when Ruby and Wycroft Forget-me-not finished in 4th place and Florrie finished in 2nd place with Whiteleaze Debutante which she was very pleased about because it meant she got to take Ruby in the evening performance! Hattie and Thistledown Lawman picked up 3rd place in the Lead Rein of Hunter Type and then she swapped onto Brookwater Tom Thumb for the First Ridden and finished 4th on him. Millie and Greendown Mandolin collected a 5th in the 122 Show Hunter Pony and Millie and Woodend Marigold sat through another massive class to finish 5th in the Tiny Tots.
However the day did belong to Millie and Field Aston Royal Fanfare when they won the 128 Part Bred class, then went into one of the biggest Championships we have seen, with 14 in it ranging from Poppy who was the smallest right up to the Intermediates. Millie was determined that she wasn’t going to look like the ‘little one’ in the ring and set sail on the go round, the pair went beautifully and were rewarded with the Champions sash. Well Done Millie- very well ridden!!
