training for success
We cannot emphasis how important TRAINING is to be successful. Thus we offer unlimited training both in groups and where needed one to one sessions, so that all the individuals who are part of our team are the best they can be when they walk into the show ring. At the end of the day, they are our shop window and therefore we want them to be as prepared as possible.
Livery / Production
The core of our yard is show livery and production. Horses / ponies are selected to be part of the Team and every single animal on the yard has an individual daily work, turnout, feed plan. In addition to this we plan shows around a month in advance and these plans are tailored to suit the pony & rider combination. Show prep for ‘day shows’ begin approximately a week prior but on the run up to the Championships shows preparation is far far longer process.
Breaking / Schooling
We do take horses and ponies in to break and or to school on. We prefer that they come to us post HOYS. This gives us the time and energy required to ensure that each animal is worked with correctly. Julie is fastidious about long reining everything initially so she understands their mouths and temperaments prior to riding.
Julie is a BHS II and a BSPS Accredited trainer and is fully insured to teach. She also holds a current BHS First Aid certificate and a current BHS Safeguarding certification.
Being part of the Team, means unlimited tuition. However Julie does offer individual and group lessons at her base in Newport, Shropshire. Additionally she travels across the country to host clinics. Please contact us for prices.
Find a Pony
The secret to success in the show ring is putting together the correct combinations. The importance of finding the correct pony at specific points in a child’s riding / showing career is essential. Hence a service we offer is to find the correct pony for each individual so that they can not only be successful in the show ring but improve their riding and build a confidence that should carry them throughout their equestrian careers in whichever discipline they choose.
We hold a full Operators license, transportation insurance and in addition to this have our Advanced Certificate in Equine Transport. Our horsebox carries 6 horses / ponies and is subject to a 6 week maintenance check to ensure its road worthiness at all times. Fiona is also a fully qualified Transport Manager. We do offer horse transportation when the horsebox is not attending shows during the main season.
